Kampala is the capital city of Uganda and Uganda is known to many as the ‘Pearl of Africa’. Formerly known as the city of seven hills, Kampala now encompasses over 20 glorious beautiful hills. Kampala is a city of lovely people with genuine smiles as they go about their businesses. The Kampala city tour will go through historical, cultural, religious, educational and business places that will define what an amazing city Kampala really is!

The Uganda Museum:
Founded in 1908, The Uganda Museum is located in the heart of Kampala and is a wonderful place to find ethnographic and natural – historical collections. Whether you are interested in African history, maps, music or science there is something for everyone at the Uganda Museum.

The Bahai Temple:
Built in 1958, the Bahai Temple is only one of eight continental Houses of Worship built around the world. Also known as the Mother Temple of Africa, the Bahai Temple sits atop Kikaaya Hill and boasts amazing views of Kampala city.

Makerere University:
Is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Africa. It was established in 1922 as a technical school and later the University of East Africa in 1963. With the split of the East African Community in 1970, it became Makerere University.

Mulago Hospital:
The biggest Hospital in Uganda founded by Albert Ruskin Cook in 1917. It was completed in 1962 the year Uganda gained her independence with a bed capacity of 1500 beds.

Mengo Palace:
This beautifully appointed palace gives stunning views of the city as you are taken through the history of the places you will be viewing in the west, east, north and south directions. See the Kabakas manmade lake with beautiful birds.

Mengo Bulange (Buganda Kingdom’s Palace):
Is the parliament of the Buganda kingdom where all administrative matters concerning the kingdom are adjudicated? In this building you will find the totems of the 52 clans of Buganda. A rich history of the Kingdom will be availed to you.

The Haven (Uganda Society for the Protection of Animals):
Do you love animals and want to make a difference in the lives of street dogs and cats in Kampala? If so, the Haven is a great place to stop in and say hello! Located in Mbuya in the district of Kampala, the USPCA is home to over 50 dogs and cats currently available for adoption. Meet the dedicated shelter
